After working for more than four years, playing music and composing with artists from Europe and the rest of the world, Bosnian band Divanhana has officially released their new 4th studio album symbolically named Zavrzlama.
This musical treat brings us 11 new songs. As this popular band has previously announced, the new studio edition will also represent a new era of their rich career, which will begin with their new original work.
“We wanted to make a concept album where we would show all the new styles which have began with sevdalinka and flow over the years up to now. Two traditional songs have found their way on the album: ‘Stade se cvijeće rosom kititi’ and ‘Oj curice’, as well as two old-town songs ‘Zarasle su staze ove’ and almost forgotten Penava’s song ‘Sarajčice hajdemo’ followed by two tavern songs Luis’s ‘Opa-opa’ and Šaban Bajramović’s ‘Peno’ and in the end our 5 originally written songs inspired by all the above mentioned songs and music styles which we polished like gems and cut to the shape which will be presented on ‘Zavrzlama’ to our appreciated audience” said Nedžad Mušović.
Album was recorded just before the pandemic started on February 2020 in music studio Metro in Ljubljana in collaboration with eminent Slovenian producer Janes Križaj, and was later produced in Sarajevo in collaboration with long time associate of the band Borjan Milošević. Zavrzlama has been enriched by the notes of artists from all around the world such as: Carlitos Yoder (Argentina), Danica Krstić (Serbia), Lakiko (Switzerland), Duygu Demir (Turkey), Goran Bojčevski (N. Macedonia), Ivan Bobinac and Iwan Josipović (Croatia) and Rok Nemanič and Klemen Bračko (Slovenia).
“Zavrzlama represents our lives in Bosnia and Herzegovina which are so tangled and influenced by different traditions, religion and culture. It represents our rivers, their tributaries, and streams which thigh our mountains that reach so high from where we can see the whole planet. Zavrzlama is also our sevdah tangled with instruments brought from east and west, rhythm structure from different ends of the world, lyrics with a pinch of love, a pinch of joke and a pinch of tragedy. In the end Zavrzlama is the music of this album.” said Neven Tunjić.
The Album was published by German CPL Music for the worldwide market, and Multimedia Music from Belgrade for the regional market. Starting from today you can stream Zavrzlama via many streaming platforms on the following link:
