Bosnian band Divanhana has recently presented their new single Lola, and they have also announced that their collaboration with their long term member Šejla Grgić is ending.
“The song Lola which we are sharing with you today is dedicated to our dear, beloved and very much appreciated colleague Šejla Grgić with whom we are ending our professional collaboration. Our dear Šejla is going to say goodbye to Divanhana and to their Sevdah friends by a couple of concerts in the area by the end of July and beginning of august on concerts at Novi Pazar, Užice and Kragujevac” said the members of the band.
Divanhana has also presented their new member Selma Droce via social media:
“We are so happy to present our new member Selma Droce. She was born in Hamburg, Germany. She had finished primary school, highschool and music school in Mostar, she graduated and post graduated at Music Academy in Sarajevo. During her studies, she became a member of the Etnoakademik ensemble where she discovered a great passion for traditional music of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Fado, Oriental music and Fusion as well. She also took part in the project Introduction to pop and jazz led by respected professor Sinan Alimanović where she had the opportunity to learn about harmony of jazz and improvisation. She has won the gold badge on music academy in Sarajevo. Nowadays she lives and works as a music artist in Mostar. We have known Selma for many years, and we had admired her work and her accomplishments believing that our paths will cross for sure one day. We are very happy to write new notes with Selma, to sing together, to laugh, to cry, and to spread sevdah in our unique way all around this colorful world. For a world full of love, for hearts that love and burn in Sevdah.”
Divanhana begins their new sevdah story at the Exit Festival at Novi Sad on 07.07. followed by many concerts all around Bosnia and Herzegovina, region and Europe.
