During this pandemic, the Bosnian band Divanhana has continuously presented their followers with fresh recordings of some of the most beautiful sevdalinkas from our region. This time, they’ve collaborated again with their esteemed associate Danica Krstić, with whom they had a very successful and fruitful cooperation in the past, to bring us the song “Oj, curice”.
According to the band, this song is also the last piece of a musical mosaic they have created during the pandemic:
“During this calamity that befell us all, which left no one safe, we decided to channel all our creativity and desire to make music through quarantine versions of some of our previously published songs and also a few of new ones that our hearts long for. The only possible way, according to the fact that we, as with you all, have been in lockdown since March, was to connect with the help of technology via online social networks. Over the past 8 months, we have shared so much love together, so much beautiful and positive energy, and so much Sevdah, that we have found ourselves locked into a wonderful parallel world, far, far away from the gloomy and depressed one that we couldn’t stand to dwell in. Notes were shared with us by many long-term associates (or, as we like to say, the eternal members of our small team) such as Sanel Redžić or Rok Nemanič, and this wonderful gem with our dear Danica Krstić. The song “Oj, curice” is the last note in a colorful mosaic that we created during the pandemic. Soon we will present this mosaic to our dear friends and followers as a quarantine compilation. But we will talk more about it soon… until then, we will indulge in Sevdah. ”
