The song Bajami is a gift to all admirers of the creative work of Divanhana, which only achieves success on the World Music scene.
The new originally written song Bajami is definitely a slight twist compared to what you could hear from Divanhana so far and it is the result of a fusion of Sevdah and ravishing Flamenco music. This Flamenco feeling was brought into the song by Luis Robisco, one of the most respected masters of Flamenco guitar in the world. Robisco is a member of the “Barcelona Guitar Trio”, who’s stage is set all over the world
from Korea to South America. On his world musical journey, maestro Robisco stopped for a moment in Bosnia & Herzegovina in order to leave an everlasting stamp on our traditional song “Sevdalinka”. You can listen to it on the link below.
“I’m happy that with the previous album we have already made a step forward and set out the path of originally written material inspired by sevdah, both in musical and poetic sense. One of these projects is our new song “Bajami”, created as a result of a wonderful acquaintance and collaboration with Luis Robisco. He showed us all the beauty of the Spanish musical tradition, and this song is a mosaic of all the differences that we came with and everything that we weaved into it with love” said the vocalist of the band Selma Droce.
The song was recorded at Modra Rijeka Studio in Sarajevo, in collaboration with producer Borjan Milošević. Along with the band members of Divanhana and Luis Robisco the song was enriched with musical skills by the famous Spanish bass player Javi Martin, as well as the percussionist Lucas Balbo. The video for the song was directed, edited and colored by Sallex Perić, a long time band associate.
