A significant recognition has arrived in Bosnia and Herzegovina Divanhana has been declared the best group in the world.
British music magazine Songlines announced the winners of its awards in all nine categories and Bosnia and Herzegovina band Divanhana is announced as the best band in the world for 2022, awarding them as the “Best group“.
This most prestigious magazine in the field of musical traditions of the world has been awarding it’s annual music awards, Songlines music awards for the fifteenth year, and it was primarily awarded by the famous third program of the BBC. In the last few years, the award has been given according to the continents from which the artists come. After the nomination, which was announced at the beginnings of April, it was already obvious that Zavrzlama, the last studio release of this band, met with never greater interest from the world public, which is why this award for Divanhana is, without a doubt, the biggest recognition for their work so far, but also one of the most important recognitions in the field of traditional music that arrives in Bosnia & Herzegovina.
During 2022, the Zavrzlama album was at the top of the international charts most of the time which has resulted in numerous awards from radio panels such as Transglobal World Music Chart, World Music Charts Europe and Balkan World Music Chart.
Zavrzlama was recorded at the beginning of 2020 in the Metro studio in Slovenia, in cooperation with one of the most legendary Slovenian producers Janes Križaj and the album featured numerous artists from various parts of the world including Carlitos Yoder (Argentina), Danica Krstić (Serbia), Lakiko (Switzerland), Duygu Demir (Turkey), Goran Bojčevski (North Macedonia), Ivan Bobinac and Iwan Josipović (Croatia), Rok Nemanič and Klemen Bračko (Slovenia). The album was produced by a longtime associate of the band Borjan Milošević, and it was published by the German publishing house CPL Music and the Belgrade’s Multimedia Music.
